Course Overview
This course provides specialized training from a PROMPT® Instructor with extensive clinical experience, enabling participants to apply different levels of PROMPT® techniques (Parameter, Surface, Complex, Syllable) in their practice immediately after completion. It focuses on using hands-on techniques to assist clients in moving their articulators. The course covers dynamic systems, holistic child treatment, and the PROMPT® assessment and treatment process. It emphasizes the motor speech system, offering an evidence-based framework to identify motor breakdowns, design treatment plans, and apply techniques through case studies.

Karen Marais
Is a clinician and working in a private practice in Pretoria, South Africa. She works with pediatric population with motor speech delays, ASD/Autism, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Cerebral Palsy, feeding difficulties and other developmental delays. She graduated from The University of Pretoria in 1991, and has been working in Schools for children with Special needs and Pre-graduate programs in Universities.
In addition to being a Certified PROMPT Instructor, she is also a South African Neuro-developmental Therapy (NDT) Speech Tutor.
